Today on February 20th it is 40 years since Tangerine Dream released their breakthrough album Phaedra. It was also in many ways the first electronic album to become a major hit, and it showed the way of a whole new genre of music.
Both new and old Tangerine Dream fans have a lot to celebrate today. Music would never be the same again.
Phaedra wasn’t the first TD album (it was actually the fifth), but songs like Mysterious Semblance at the Strand of Nightmares and Movements of a Visionary made it into a success.
