Behind each album is a story, but the one behind Music That Matters – LoveLight is one of the most fascinating and heartwarming;

Hi, I’m Kevin Wood, and my wife, Jennifer, and I, this last year have had the privilege to get to know Martin and Kelly Dowman, who are wonderful people and servants of our community in Austin, TX, as well as the communities in South Africa. A couple of years ago, Martin left a successful career in the corporate world and volunteered to make a difference for children in South Africa by joining LoveLight, a non-profit program serving the kids in South Africa to rise above the circumstances of pandemics like HIV/AIDs, and poverty in the post apartheid era. Lovelight funds programs and provides volunteers to give these kids hope and a brighter future. This is making a difference for hundreds of South African children. Through education, youth camps, training and local organization support, LoveLight has already helped so many in need for the past 10 years. Working with existing, effective community organizations in South Africa, they help the communities from the ground up. In focusing on sustainability and education LoveLight supports growing their own food, fostering childhood education, supporting their own lives — seeing each child as being capable of making a difference in their own community. In addition, Martin organizes the opportunity for a number of graduating high school seniors in America to make the trip to South Africa and learn the value of service and making a difference, transforming their lives forever.

Upon being inspired and moved by the work of Martin and Kelly Dowman and LoveLight, Jennifer and I wanted to help. As a New Age/World music artist and promoter, I have been blessed to meet and know so many other New Age and World music artists. The Music That Matters compilation was seen as a beautiful and inspiring way to bring together talented artists with extraordinary music for the cause. What’s so amazing was the heartfelt response from the artists. We found that artists are eager to help and be a part of meaningful solutions and charitable work. This compilation is now a reality, and you can help by spreading the word.

Rose, the child shown on the album’s front cover, and her community have benefited tremendously from LoveLight. You, too, can help Rose and many more in need.

36 songs, 9 Grammy nominated artists & numerous cutting-edge artists, on one album. Listen and hear why this album is “the best New Age music compilation since Pure Moods — certainly the most meaningful.” All proceeds benefit LoveLight.
