Myristica has just released her new album Waiting for Yesterday. Myristica is a music project by Mai-Ling Grey, and this album is the follow-up to last year’s Little Oak. Here is a presentation:
Waiting for Yesterday dedicated toMai-Ling Grey’sfather, who spent many years in the Royal Navy. This album is her musical interpretation of his memories at sea as a young sailor, thousands of miles away from home.
Through her melodious piano vignettes and ambient soundscapes, Myristica translates her Father’s tales of beautiful sunsets, the friendships he made, and the experiences he gained while sailing around the world.
Guest artists include mulit-instrumentalist, Phil Thornton, and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s Chris Philpotts.
