Four New Albums By Clifford White

1015

New Age music legend Clifford White has released nothing less than FOUR new albums this January. “The SYNERGY Series” contains White’s brand of electronic music reflected through a variety of styles, from relaxation/new age/chillout through 60’s lounge/exotica/electronic to 70’s/80’s/90’s funk, disco and dance and beyond. “I know, four albums might sound a bit over the top,” White says, “but I just couldn’t help myself!”

The albums are “Waterworld”, “The Speed of Silence”, “Robot Dawn” and “Cityscape”. Total running time is just under 5 hours.

Here are the two first Youtube videos:

Waterworld
Inspired by the early works of Jean-Michel Jarre (especially the Oxygene and Equinoxe albums), Waterworld explores beautiful alien planets and exotic ecospheres.

Clifford believes that Jean-Michel Jarre’s early works created a musical language all of their own, and that this language is still ripe for exploration and invention. To that end, Clifford’s Waterworld opus continues in the Jarre-esque style, evoking rich vistas of sound and colour in a variety of moods, from the blissed-out relaxation of Edentide to the pulsing beats of Moonlight Express and Tranceport.

Waterworld forms part one of the SYNERGY series, an exploration of electronic music past, present and future. Currently at four volumes, the SYNERGY series offers some of the finest electronic music available today, revealing a fresh new perspective on the nostalgic sounds and rhythms of the past fused with a vibrant and inspiring vision of the future.

The Speed of Silence
The Speed of Silence – part two of Clifford White’s SYNERGY series – bounces into action with a varied mixture of beats and grooves ossillating between 70’s funk, 80’s disco and 90’s dance suffused with a liberal sprinkling of lounge, chillout and new age sentiments that make The Speed of Silence an exciting and inspiring romp through the very best that classic electronica has to offer.

Robot Dawn
As if rising like an phoenix from the ashes of a forgotten 1980’s science fiction movie, Robot Dawn emerges with mechanical beats and pulsing rhythms combined with smooth and silky electronica, documenting the rise of the machines and our ever-increasingly technological culture. With more than a nod or two to the great-grandfathers of Synth-pop and Krautrock KraftwerkTangerine Dream and the soundtracks of John Carpenter, this inventive album expertly blends multiple influences of electronic music into an epic tale of futuristic proportions

Cityscape
Containing some of the most upbeat tracks of the SYNERGY series thus far, Cityscape takes you on a journey through an imaginary city, where futuristic skyscrapers touch the clouds and cars float on currents of air. Pulsing with the heartbeat of a inspiring metropolis, Cityscape explores a variety of styles and moods, from the retro-synthwave inspired Sidewalk and the exotic lounge-inspired groove of Lovers Lane to the expansive birds-eye views of the title track Cityscape.
