STRENGTH OF SPIRIT is an album with 10 tracks composed, produced, and performed by Ivan Teixeira during the global quarantine for the containment of the advance of COVID-19. It follows the success of Teixeira’s debut release with Heart Dance Records: ALLAYER PROJECT 1.
During the COVID-19 isolation, Teixeira found himself at first withdrawn and experiencing a flood of emotions, but soon found the strength of his inner spirit and was once more inspired to compose new music that emulated the resilience of the human race.
“It’s undeniable that the moment in which humanity is going through has profoundly affected my creative process” says Ivan, about when he began his work of composition.
“I think for the first time, I felt my music in a totally vulnerable space, at the risk of leaving forever” recalling his feelings. “For a few days, I felt completely incapable of playing the piano, or any other instrument. A mixture of revolt, of indignation. I had to reconcile with the music first. A feeling I’ve never experienced before. Mourning.”
“It wasn’t until I got back to the studio, composed and produced the 10 tracks – a process that was intense, emotionally very challenging and that serves for me as a memorial, that I was able to remember these days and allow it to help strengthen my spirit,” concludes Teixeira.
