Midori’s new album is called Dharma. The album distinguishes itself through its serene soundscapes, built upon gentle percussion, soft keyboards and delicate guitar melodies. I find it to be both hypnotic and incredibly beautiful.
The flutes’ expressive interplay evokes tranquility. The unique timbres of Japanese and Indian flutes converge to create something truly special.
Midori is a music project by British New Age composer and multi-instrumentalist Medwyn Goodall. We follow this project closely here on Newagemuisc.guide. While Goodall has a vast body of work under his own name, spanning various styles from Celtic to instrumental New Age music, Midori is specifically his alias for more therapeutic, relaxation-based music.
The music on Dharma paints vivid sonic landscapes. The airy tones of Japanese flutes intermingle with the warm melodies of Indian flutes. This creates a unique sonic tapestry. Check it out for yourself:

To me, the gentle percussion acts as a heartbeat. It grounds the ethereal flute melodies. You can’t ask for a better sonic sanctuary, an escape from the problems and hustle and bustle of everyday life. Incredible, isn’t it?
