Michael Kollwitz is a composer and performer on a unique and not often seen instrument invented by Emmett Chapman known as The Chapman Stick. Michael studied with the master for 10 years to hone his own skills on this beautiful instrument. In Michael’s own words ‘The Stick’ is the perfect marriage between piano and guitar.
Entirely produced in Michael’s hometown of Sedona AZ, Serenity II is Michael’s 22nd album and second full-length album in the New Age genre. The album consists of 16 original compositions inspired by the book “Steps To Knowledge- The Book of Inner Knowing” by Marshall Vian Summers. The music is timeless and is sure to be enjoyed by listeners in the decades to come.
While performing and selling his music in Hawaii, California and Arizona Michael has been approached by many musician celebrities who have purchased his recordings including Carlos Santana, Alice Cooper and Mick Fleetwood. He was invited to audition for the first season of America’s Got Talent in 2006 and he has opened for The Beach Boys and The Goo Goo Dolls.
Michael’s 2017 release, Serenity, reached #8 on the Zone Music Reporter Chart this past September and was nominated for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album of 2017 by One World Music Radio. It has also gained placements on the ‘Spa’ channels of several international airlines.
