“May It Be”, the song Enya, Roma and Nicky Ryan recorded for “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring”, now has a brand-new
sing-along video! “May it be an evening star, Shines down upon you…”
I guess it is safe to say that Enya, after having turned down signing “My Heart Will Go On” in James Cameron’s “Titanic”, she was not going to make the same mistake twice. So when Peter Jackson called and said that he wanted her in “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring”, she flew to New Zealand to see the preliminary edits of the film. Then she went home, composed the song and recorded the vocals in Aigle Studios – before the orchestration was recorded in London, directed by Howard Shore and performed by the London Voices and London Philharmonic Orchestra. And the rest is, as they say, history.
Enjoy the new and colorful video:
Here is the wonderful lyrics:
May it be an evening star
Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
Your heart will be true
You walk a lonely road
Oh, how far you are from home
Mornië utúlië ((darkness has come))
Believe and you will find your way
Mornië alantië ((darkness has fallen))
A promise lives within you now
May it be the shadows call
Will fly away
May it be your journey on
To light the day
When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun
Mornië utúlië ((darkness has come))
Believe and you will find your way
Mornië alantië ((darkness has fallen))
A promise lives within you now
A promise lives within you now
