After an eight-year absence from recording, pianist Kori Linae Carothers makes a triumphant return with the brilliant On A Cold Frosty Morning, featuring beloved traditional carols and a few seasonal originals as well.

She hasn’t lost a step, to put it mildly. Kori’s nuanced playing, accentuated by a light touch and an avoidance of cliché faux romanticism, are on ample display throughout the album. On A Cold Frosty Morning was recorded at the now legendary Imaginary Road Studios where Grammy-winner Will Ackerman and Tom Eaton produced it (as they did with Kori’s last release, the acclaimed solo piano album, Fire In The Rainstorm).
Joining Kori are the “usual suspects” of talented artists who are frequently heard on I.R. releases, violinist Charlie Bisharat, cellist Eugene Friesen, vocalist Noah Wilding, and Jill Haley playing English horn. Tom Eaton contributes on bass/keyboards and Will Ackerman plays guitar and percussion. On A Cold Frosty Morning is the ideal musical backdrop for holiday gatherings, fireside chats, or just sitting by a window watching the snow fly and the sky darken. The album’s subdued, intimate performances will fill the room with warmth, serenity, and a sincere appreciation for both holiday classics and the original songs.
