Anora is a singer, composer, performing artist, and recording artist who resides in the Salt Lake City area. “Labyrinth” is her debut album and features a combination of classical instrumentation and electronic elements. It includes original work, cover songs, arrangements of classical pieces, and traditional folk songs.

Anora’s love of music began at age 10, when her parents bought her a viola and signed her up for the school orchestra. At age 12, she performed in her first musical theater production, Oklahoma. Her high school years were filled with orchestra and choir concerts as well as a few trips to nearby cities for music clinics and honor choirs and orchestras. On a side note, she also performed with the school’s award winning drill team, acquiring a love for dance and electronic music which she often incorporates into her music.

After high school, Anora attended Brigham Young University and, while she didn’t study music specifically, she was a member of the University Chorale and the University String Orchestra. Following her college years, Anora performed with the Pleasant Grove Orchestra, Herriman Community Orchestra, and Herriman Community Choir for several years. She was also cast in multiple musical theater productions and was a member of the Herriman Harmonyx, a city sponsored 10-member a cappella group. Whenever the opportunity presented itself, Anora also performed at church meetings and events.

Soon after her fifth child was born, Anora came across a PBS broadcast of the all-female Irish musical ensemble, Celtic Woman, and was immediately entranced. Around that same time, she landed her first ever vocal solo in a production of The Ten Virgins: A Musical Parable. It was the most amazing experience for her and she knew this was what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. Following this epiphany, she enrolled in the music program at Utah Valley University and studied voice for a year. She continued to work with various private voice teachers along with studying music theory, vocal technique, and the music business extensively on her own.

Anora had another baby girl, which required a bit of a break from music, and then she decided it was time to work on some music of her own. She bought a keyboard workstation and some recording equipment and began writing and arranging songs. With the engineering help of Steven Lerud at Lakeview Recording Studio and some very talented studio musicians, she was able to produce a full length album. “Labyrinth” was released in April of 2016.
